also focus on the positives ..for eg I am happy that because of these delays I didnt run and buy a house in usa (which is one of the worst investments that a person can make).
Just like to correct you here my friend - Its incorrect to suggest that a house is a bad investment in the US. On the other hand, why treat it as an investment like so many foolish real estate speculators out there. Think of it as a place to live and be part of the American Dream. If not for this dream, many of us would have packed up and gone home back to our own countries.

Before SKIL bill there were Talent Bill and PACE act which were pending for a long time. the senate has not taken up the immigration reform debate yet. and it can be postponed forever. So how much hope is there for SKIL bill ?
Also after senate, there is a bigger hurdle, the house of representatives. Remember the Budget Reconciliation Bill was passed in Senate with the Immigration related Clauses. But was stripped off in the House. So is there any hope ?
Sorry I am being Skeptical. But apart from some media publicity, IV does'nt have brought up anything good to the Legal Immigrants community.
Have IV recieved any Positive Responses for the faxes being sent. Will the Backlog elimination Centers Improve their processing speed, and transparency of cases?
I am on H4 visa, So I am dumped. and Here is my friend who had to resign her job because her 6 yrs limit on H visa. and We are feeling depressed day by day in this UNFAIR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM. Aren't H4 spouses considered as Immigrants ?

My wife and I just received the email about card production order. And, ou4 case status has changed on the website to CPO. I wish good luck to all of you. In case it helps, anyone, our details:
Priority date: Feb 26, 2006
I-485 Receipt date: Jul 27, 2007
Steps taken:
SR opened for my petition around July 17th: Response stated that my petition was in the adjudications department, and was for an officer to be assigned.
Status enquiry through the local congresswoman Aug 12th: Same result as my SR.
SR opened for my wife Aug., 10th: No response yet
Infopass appointment on Aug. 16th: Both petitions with an officer since Aug. 12th.
I appreciate the forum and all the support it offers. Donated last month.

Thanks. Yes, if EB3 PD is on or before DEC 2003 then it would not be that bad now.
Unfortunately for me, my PD is Nov 2004. So I guess I will have to wait it out till 2010 or later maybe. I hope things move early than late...

you've taken one sliver of info out of that case and making it seem like thats a primary issue... i dont doubt that what you are purporting is true... but your link pointed to something that was a complete waste of time... i agree that you need to have a permanent full time job and that permanent means indefinite in most cases related to immigration.

My friends check encashed today from TSC. His Attorney send application (6/20) to NSC and received there on 6/21.
So long way to go... I am not sure next weekend estimate will also hold good for July 2nd filer. :) Don't kill yourself and it will not make it faster.:D :D :D

I guess I saw a mistake on the writing....
On July 13th, 2007, DoS provided a glimmer of hope to these aspiring legal immigrants, by announcing in their visa bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3258.html) that all Employment-based green card applicants and their dependents would be eligible to apply for their Green cards, during the month of July 2007
It is June 13th not July13th the first visa bulletin sent out by DoS.

I am NSC-CSC-NSC person. I opened service request for not receiving FP.
I got a response from NSC after 30 days that my case is waiting for an opening at local ASC for FP. what an idiotic response !!
I called them again and they said that since they have responded to service request, only thing to do is wait 60 days more. they cannot again file service request. I guess I have to just keep trying till I get a good rep.

Does section 201 mean that those with advanced degrees from US Universities are exempt from the 3 year requirement? This clarification is critical because of the 3 years in the RELATED field clause. I do not believe any of the other bills incorporating similar provisions have made this distinction for US advanced degree holders vs advanced degree holders from other countries. I believe all other bills impose the 3 year RELATED field restriction for ALL advanced degree holders.
If the 3 year RELATED field clause does not exist for US advanced degree holders in STEM, it would give relief to many members.

Nebraska is now producing receipts for applications filed on the first week of August. I see this big void from July 3rd to July 20th that people did not get their receipts. Thats incorrect...Lot of major corporations hire from different locations in the world...I have several friends working at a s/w giant in Seattle area who were directly hired in Russia, India, Singapore, etc...

I dont have GC depression just irritation but when other things bother me I just run it out sometimes. Also, there's so much to be done so once you get busy full time and especially weekends so just try and keep yourself occupied and your mind away from the stuff that bothers you. Ofcourse 10 years is a long time and there's no justification for this but hopefully we can solve this mess thru iv so this ugly vb mess is confined to the dustbins of history forever.
