I never said I'm doing any community service, I care for my green card, and I am not getting it because of the country cap. That is why country ca is my problem. But if I am able to convince a lawmaker and get something in place, while I get my Green card, thousands others will get it who are in line before me, and obviously people who are after me will move forward in line. May be with your kind of brains and temperament it is hard for you to understand, but it is simple for 60 plus people who are in our Yahoo group...

You seem to project that only you care for the issue of country-limits. I think the better description is, you only care for the removal of country limits till the day you get your green card. You do NOT want to remove country limits on EB beyond the date you receive the approval of your application. Giving a false impression to a few on this forum that temporarily removal of country limits will be easier than permanent removal of country limits is just WRONG.
After IV admin posted for the media interview few days back, I sent them an email expressing my willingness to speak with the press. I spoke with Vivek Wadhwa at length last week about this issue. Vivek Wadhwa article in Washington Post covers the issue of country limits where as his previous articles have not covered this issue.

Its disgusting that rather than working with others to fix this complicated and difficult issue, you continue to beat your own drum, without actually doing anything, but at the same time hurting the issue you claim you care for. And on top of that you want to remove the country limits only until you get your green card. Is that rationale to you in any which way?????? No. Is your action selfish????? YES.

If Democrats win the House (which they most probably will - maybe with a small majority): Would then there be a Compromise on the CIR which the Republicans didnt even want to talk about ?
Someone in this thread pointed out that in the lame duck session is held with the current members, that would mean we wouldnt have a compromise in the lame duck session.
Then the new Congress would come in and the Bills would have to be passed in the Senate all over again, right? ( Just asking as I dont know the whole process).

For the option 2, here we go.I am new to this web site and it seems there are approx 70k people here and lot more outside. Hugh enough to create miracles.
Just to remind ourself who we are. We are Highly skilled LEGAL immigrants. It not only means we are skillful but it also means we pay every damn tax which is out there. We pay for welfare. We pay for unemployed. We pay for pensioners. List goes on. We pay fees for every application processed by USCIS ( Labor, I-140,I-485,I-765,I-131 etc etc ). We pay rent. We buy cars. We buy houses. In short, we are nothing but GOLD to this economy.
However, this one department called USCIS is literally toying with us for yrs now as if we are slaves or we are obligated to them. We dont want anyone to do us any favour. We need justice.
Friends - I have self respect and i wasn't born chanting Green Card. I AM going to face them, confront them, demand them to provide justice, if not I want them to REFUND every penny i have paid so far. If this "I AM" becomes "WE", half the battle won. TOGETHER WE STAND, VICTORY/JUSTICE FOR ALL. If you are still hesitant, you made a bad choice of choosing option 2. Please go back to option 1.

I and my wife have been SCREAMING, FIGHTING for over four years now. We are now so frustrated that we have EVEN DISCUSSED THINGS LIKE TAKING UP OUR LIVES !!! I really mean it. For both of us, our career is the single most important thing.
We had decided to wait for our next step in life like having a kid or putting in a big investment till we both at least have a job. Inspite of both of us having Masters degress from US universities, we are both suffering - me languishing in a filthy job and my wife on H4 - for the past 5 years !!! She is now more than 35 making it difficult to have kids etc...
I don't have the choice of going back to my home country due to many other personal reasons. I just don't know what to do... I am losing my sanity.

To allot a GC or Immigration is a leanthy process includes several steps so it takes time to pass through all these steps. After validating and checking all the documents the GC is alloted

Hi Guys,
I came to know that if there is a significant increase in the new salary compared to old labor salary, the chances of getting a query is more.
Let us assume that if you old labor salary is X and if you want to take up a new job with X + 30% or more the chances for USCIS query is more.
If the salary increases between the jobs is 10% there should not be any issue.
Of course, these words are not from an attorney, i talked to a senior guy who is in this profession.
Before you are planning to use AC 21, please consult with attroney first and they only accept the new job.

You can not really change point based system and u can not ask for that..they are the policy makers..they are responsible for there own country.
We should only ask
- Clear the backlog for EB people as FB without country quota
- Allow all backlogged people to continue on old system (h1b renewal/3 year extension until date of enactment.
If all backlogged is cleared then for merit based people..
- There is no LC or PERM..u can file adjsutment of status just as canada or Australia. ur PD will be current as backlogged is being cleared.You can continue to enjoy AC-21 after I-485.
- You don't need H1b renewal 1 year or 3 year..

H1B quotas for 2001, 2002 and 2003 were 195000. Three times the norm. This could be the reason they quotas were not met during those years. Sure market conditions also helped.

I think EB3 India will move to Dec 2004 by end of this year. (crossing my finger and praying hope this will come true)
By the end of this year If they haven't made any significant movement in EB3 India We should seriously look into filling a lawsuit for country discrimination. Seriously I'm surprised no one is looking into filling a lawsuit for this endless country based discrimination.
I can't think of any other solution for this mess. Watching the house hearing made me sick they can't even differentiate GC visa and H1B visa.

I only took Bank Statements. In my case they did not even ask to see those.
Actually in the landing paper there is a place where teh officer needs to sign of funds as well.
some places officers dont ask for it and in other places like rainbow bridge they do ask for it. However it is justa small formality...i just tooka printout of the online statement and that was fine with them.

I changed my job twice using AC-21 informed USCIS once, I don't see any risk itz a law, as long as you are able to produce paperwork that your current job is similar to previous one you are safe, any decent employer would give you a supporting letter (oh ya exluding blood sucking desi pimps).
I find many guys calcluate too much and let go good opportunities, get real guys no one is behind you if you have job and not done anything wrong,
I really don't care when I get my GC as long as they renew my EAD ( I am on my foruth EAD)

Story of my life. I complain about delay with my application. Someone joins me and tells me they are in the same boat and the very next day that someone leaves the boat and jumps into "greener" pastures. Everyone is leaving the boat and I seem to be left out :(
Who else are in my boat? (Application with an officer for over 2 weeks and still status = "Initial Review")

I have tried to get it resolved but they haven't done anything about it [had tried Ombudsman (7001), Senator, congressman, SR etc]. Funny thing is even the incorrect priority date is current now. And still waiting for GC for over a month :mad:
