I think this is a very useful poll and I wish most people partake in this. This will give a very good metric on how many people are waiting and good guestimate on future movements !!!

Not my usual thing, this is a first attempt at studio shooting. A friend is starting a preseved flower business and needs some photos to get started. My backdrops consisted of some fabric purchased at the local store, my dining table, and a PVC frame and welding clips to hold them up. :) Any comments/critique welcome.

I heard from some other people if they are in vsg their GCs are not getting approved as it is not @ our fault why we need to bear this...I am coming to conclusion that vsg case is affecting employees...any solution u are trying....

May be this is the general process, but I know of a case with RD in June last week and PD in 2003 Mar got approved last Nov/Dec area. It is an EB3 India case.
That would be quite surprising (but not unusual with USCIS :confused: ).
If the case has RD in last week of June then theoretically it had some windows where its PD would have been current
June last week - July 2 and
July 17 - Aug 17th.
But looks like the approval happened in Nov/Dec 07...nowhere near the possible PD current time frames I mentioned above. And also during Nov/Dec 07, EB3- India was 'U' ...so how did the case get adjudicated, and Visa number assigned during that time frame ??? !! One could not even argue that the case got adjudicated and visa assigned during July/Aug timeframes but got stuck for a while before the approval was mailed....'cos its about 3-4 months difference to the time the actual approval was mailed!
Should people who get such unusual approvals be worried that USCIS may realise their mistake later and retract the asssigned Visa numbers and put the case back into adjustment of status mode?? I hope not for the sake of sanity of those people who got the approval !
More the reason for me to get the Infopass in April and hopefully force them to open up my case and look if it can be adjudicated.. :( . I wonder what my company's immigration attorneys would say. They usually do not recommend the applicants directly contacting USCIS.

You are very correct. For them immigration issue means, family based greencard system. They will be happy if EB greencard is eliminated so that all greencards are given to their families.
My friend contacted such organization and they said that they will help us by putting our issue on their website. For that I should ask IV to contribute to their cause. They refused to contribute anything or do anything for IV. They said that by putting IV's name on their site, they are doing us a favor by enhancing our profile and that is a big help. I am now repulsed by such ABCDs.
This is so much in contrast to hispanic orgs or Irish orgs or jewish orgs who care for their people.
yes, our community is divided. The main reason is, all these years, majority people used short cuts methods or got lucky or effortlessly immigrated and jumped to the other side. Things were not so tough for them as compared to us and we are competitive. They hate us for being competitive so they influence the law makers and the results is obvious EB green card is 10% and FB system is bringing in 60%. They take advantage of the the H1b system to live on us and influence the policies making it tougher.
We are better off not seeking their help, but if people think otherwise, go for it. A lot of these organizations are formed for convinience and self interest and they really do not have any interest in the community as a whole.
Take example of ATA and TANA. ATA is called American telugu Association and TANA is called Telugu association of North America. They say ATA is for Reddys and TANA is for Khammas.
Look at the Gujjus. They are strongly bound their community only. Look at all the Tamil sangams, Kannada Sangams, ......
I am not blaming them, but just saying that their agendas are not ours. We may be better off not spending time with these people.

if you saw any of the news shows over the weekend everybody says the chances of this passing the senate are about 33% and even if it passes the senate it might not pass the house. even kyl was skeptical about its chances. this is our chance, lets oppose this bill tooth and nail. no bill is better bill for us as long as kennedy, kyl and durbin are around. please oppose this bill

I think we all shud send our customer service experiences to USCIS and DHS leadership..we need to make a note of Agent IDs in the beginning..

I think right now the customer service/info pass people are just saying whatever comes to their mouth at that point of time or what they can see on their monitors. They do not research into the case at all. To me that is not customer service at all. Rather it is a disservice in the sense that I got nothing but confusions from them. I still do not know where my case is right now in CSC or TSC. I got three different answers to the same question. The interesting thing is that on talking to the customer service (who said my case is still in CSC), I argued and said that CSC says that it is back in TSC, the reply was, "so it must be in TSC ". In other words, she repeated my own words.

Hmm thats weird. So what is porting? Does it mean that you can port from EB2 to EB2 only? I was thinking since I have my approved labor and I140 on EB3 and now as I have gained more experience and my salary meets the criteria I should be able to port from EB2 to EB3. If this is not the case then it is messed up.
BTW dentist, I am starting a new job by the end of this month and need to talk to the employer on my situation as they are willing to help me with my paperwork. that is why it is urgent.
Anyone has any insight to this matter.

The latest update we received is the the annoucement to be made soon will be as follows:
1. DHS will withdraw it decision and act according to original bulletin released in July which had EB dates current for everyone except EB-other worker category.
2. The July bulletin (original one released on June 12th) will remain effective for 30 days more and will be effective all the way thru August 17th.
This is good news. It will be announced soon. We got this information from very reliable source. You have 30 more days to file your I-485.

I have heard such cases and as per law, you are responsible to bring it to the USCIS notice about their mistake. Since you have one more month left, it is better to work with your attorney to iron out this issue. Make sure you bring this to UCSIS notice.
TO get 3 year extension your attorney needs to file the copy of approved 140along with the request for H1b extension. Make sure to ask for H4 also if you have one.

Is this true? I think once you start using EAD your H status is imiidiately invalid. she needs to go out of the country and get the H1B stamped in order to work on H1b.

I already have two labor certification petition both of which are stuck in PBEC. MY first labor cert has PD of March 2003 and the other Feb 2005 . ON my lawyers advice i filed my second labor under RIR instead of waiting for another month and filing under PERM what a big mistake i made... I am onmy 5th yr on H1b and was hoping to Get at least 3yr ext if i was able to file 1-140 and have it approved before i file for the H1b . :(

Looks like your PD is current. You might get your GC anytime. That is another factor I would consider if your GC gets approved before you get married.
Filing six months in advance seems to be a better idea.

I sent the documents (tax return and W-7 together) through certified mail and as per USPS tracking, they were delivered on 28th Feb. However, IRS representative said they received my tax return documents on 14th March. I got the refund through direct deposit on 25th March.
